| Whilst most of the members of West Lancashire AMD were tucked up in their bed's two intrepid travellers arrived at Wigan Railway Station just after daybreak on a breezy Saturday morning. | |

| No they weren't train spotters; they were travelling to Southend on Sea to attend the District Meeting for Essex. | |

| Arriving into Euston Station after being treated to hospitality courtesy of Richard Branson, a quick and uneventful tube journey they arrived safely at Liverpool Street Station, boarding the 9.00am train for Southend. | |

| Ray Clare the DGP for Essex was on hand to welcome Paul and Geoff in Southend. | |

| Also attending the meeting was another member of the District of West Lancashire, in the person of R.W.Bro. Peter Brockbank who is in addition the DGP for Kent. Peter lives near Dartford in south east London, regularly attending meetings of Portal Council at Garston. | |

| Following the District Meeting, guests were invited to pre lunch drinks accompanied by a vast amounts of Shrimps, Cockles, Crab portions, Oyster's and Jellied Eels of this succulent seafood all were tried except the Jellied Eels!! | |

| Following an enjoyable lunch the journey home began, after an uneventful train journey helped by hospitality courtesy of Richard Branson the pair arrived home around 8.00pm, although a long day it had been a thoroughly enjoyable occasion. Looking forward to our next outing! |
